AliExpress promo codes are limited pools. Whoever types them first gets the discount — and then the code dies for everyone else. That single fact explains almost every «why doesn’t my code work» problem you have ever had.
Here is the short version of how this works, and where to grab codes that are still alive today.
Promo code vs coupon vs coins
Three different things. People mix them up constantly.
Promo code
A text string you type at checkout. Comes from articles, emails, sales events.
Coupon
The discount that string leaves on your account. Applies automatically once claimed.
Coins
Loyalty currency from check-ins and reviews. Small percent off, stacks with everything.
Why codes stop working
- Pool is empty. First come, first served. Most common reason by far.
- Wrong region. USA code on a non-US address never lands.
- Minimum not met. Shipping and some Choice items don’t count toward the threshold.
- Seller opted out. Not every shop accepts platform codes.
- Already claimed. Most codes are one per account.
What actually stacks
Two platform codes never stack. New-user code plus a regular code never stacks. What does work:
Store coupon + one platform code + coins + payment discount.
Clip the seller coupon on the product page before you checkout. That is the step most people skip.
Where to get codes that still work
Code lists go stale within hours. A page written last week is mostly dead codes. What you want is a list someone actually tests on a live checkout.

Why did the code work yesterday and not today?
The pool ran out. Codes are released in fixed batches and claimed first-come, first-served. Try the backup string or a lower tier.
Can I use two AliExpress codes on one order?
No. One platform code per order. A store coupon plus one platform code is the maximum stack.
Do USA codes work outside the US?
No. Region-locked to a US account and US shipping address. Everyone else uses Global codes.
Where do I paste the code?
Signed-in checkout. Desktop has a Promo Code field in the order summary. In the app it’s hidden behind «Enter code» at the bottom.
Do these work on Choice items?
Sometimes. If Choice rejects the string, try the non-Choice listing from a different seller.
